Kaela turns 5!

(note from mom - so much has happened since the last post but in order to keep it more current, I will continue on and fill in the gaps when I can.  This post was too important to delay any further :).
Kaela's 5th birthday was much anticipated by the birthday girl. Although "Frozen" is the most popular topic of play/music/dress-up these days, she is an avid artist, and we had an art party this year.  Le Petit Matisse, a children's art studio in Alameda, came and led the kids in a mosaic art project.  The kids were great and their creativity was fun to watch!
Kaela at 5: 1. talks like a pre-teen "that's hilarious", "you're kidding me" while at the same time make up words that sound reasonable ("snook" - past tense of to sneak)
2. loves her family and likes to help parent Colin
3. Is a sensitive friend, daughter, sister
4. Has anxiety about being a grown-up
5. Takes dance and swim classes and does well in both (although getting her there is sometimes a challenge!)
6. Will play and get dirty like the best of them
7. loves to create art, jewelry, "dresses" of paper and loves various art supplies
8. is very curious - current favorite books are the Usborne pop-ups like "How Things Work", "The Human Body", and "Space"
