USS Hornet

Alameda is fortunate to house the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. It participated in World War II, Vietnam, and recovered both the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 space capsules. It is the eighth and last ship to carry the "Hornet" name. We joined the Dubows and Dalys to tour the ship on a beautiful fall day with a stunning view of San Francisco. There are many amazing displays on the carrier with so much to learn. We spent a few hours there but will definitely need another trip to see the rest.
