Summer 2010

This summer brought about a lot of firsts for us. Kaela embraced toddlerhood and is running around everywhere. She is very interactive with other children and is learning to play together, share, and help others. She loves to help around the house with the laundry, bringing in the groceries, and cleaning up. She had a lot of visitors this summer and thoroughly enjoys seeing her family and friends. Kaela also went to a tumbling class this summer where she learned how to roll, hang, and walk on the balance beam (skills she practices at the park whenever she gets the chance). Her language has begun to explode, and she repeats a lot of what she hears (which has definitely made us be very aware of what words we use). She has at least 50 words in her vocabulary and is starting to put together 2 words phrases like "mommy's shoes" or "all done". This summer Kaela also started daycare 2 mornings a week. She is often sad when she is dropped off but always has a good time. She is very kind to others and herself - if another child is crying, she says "uh-oh" and points to go over to them, she kisses her boo-boos (and others' too), she likes to share her snacks and feed other kids, and she likes to give hugs and kisses. As always, she puts a smile on our faces in a new way every day, and it is so much fun to watch her grow.
