Aloha Kauai

From April 20-25 Savta, Mom, and I went to Kauai, Hawaii so Mom could go to a conference. There were so many new things to do there! I fed the koi fish, talked with the parrot, chased chickens and roosters, played in the surf, swam in the pool, fed the friendly birds, took a bus to Waimea Canyon, and ate a lot of pineapple.
Mom's note - Well, we made it through Kaela's first long plane ride - luckily we had an empty seat between us and were able to bring on the car seat, so she was more comfortable. She was a great little traveller, and the expressions of wonder and excitement on her face as she looked at her new surroundings in Kauai were definitely worth the 5 hour plane ride. As we entered the hotel grounds she was pointing and talking and so animated at the birds, fish, trees, and flowers - it was truly a joy to experience with her. She spent her mornings with Savta, feeding the koi, swimming in the pool, and taking walks around the grounds. In the afternoon we would either go to the beach or back to the pool again. On my only free morning we took a bus tour to Waimea Canyon and learned more about the Hawaiian Islands as well as saw the canyon, Spouting Horn, and some great views along the way. We all had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful weather. There were too many things to do in this short trip, so I can't wait until we can go back again!
